Our Projects

We work on a diverse range of projects across the Lower Mainland with some of the most accomplished Architects, Designers, and Builders our industry has to offer. We typically employ 15-20 highly skilled craftsmen including journeyman carpenters, joiners, and furniture makers. This mix of talent allows us to bring unique skill sets to each project.

West 6th Residence

This project included fabricating and installing the custom interior door package, African mahogany library millwork as well as custom interior balustrades, and providing all finishing carpentry services. We were delighted to work alongside Lesli Balagno of Heffel Balagno Design Consultants and Keystone Projects Ltd., and it also needs to be said how much we enjoyed working with the homeowners. What a difference it makes to the finished product, knowing your time and effort is so appreciated.

Belmont Residence

The scope of this project was extensive. Our work included:

  • All interior and exterior carpentry
  • Fabrication of custom African teak doors and several windows
  • Interior balustrades
  • Interior and exterior glass installation
  • All finishing carpentry services
  • Technical framing

Private Residence 1

This project is one of our favourites. Thanks to the homeowners affording us endless creative freedom and a blank canvas, I'm now the proud owner of an extensive American Victorian/Craftsman Style library. Given the amount of detail associated with this period (circa 1895), we were tasked with assembling and managing a team of trades capable of executing the complex old world finishes. Designing each and every room with equal attention to detail was immensely challenging but tremendously gratifying.

Virtually every interior elevation in the house was hand drawn with pencil on vellum and our team went to work on making the drawings come to life with 95% of the woodwork fabricated on site.

Private Residence 2

This project is still a work in progress with builders Keystone Projects Ltd, but I couldn't resist posting a few photos as it's quickly becoming one of my personal favourites. It is always a pleasure to work for homeowners (Naudia Mache) with impeccable taste!  Judge for yourself, but I think this house showcases the perfect balance of new and old. Contemporary framework and sensibilities are combined effectively with old world décor and finishes. It also boasts the most impressive landscaping (Rose and Pistols) I've seen since, well, forever.

James Northey Finishing + Design Inc. (JNFD) is doing all the interior finishing, millwork installation and balustrades. We've also been working with the owners designing several custom furniture pieces throughout the house and out buildings. More pics coming soon...

GentlemAn's Pub

Remember Ye olde Elizabethan days? I don't either. But, I'll never forget how deep I delved into research for this Gentleman's Pub. Inspired by The Marble Hall at Hatfield House (Hertfordshire, England), this room has so many unique elements, I think we should just let the images speak for themselves.

Custom Furniture

An enjoyable part of our remit is building custom furniture for the spaces that we help bring to life. These elements can include anything from bed frames to linen cupboards, kitchen and side tables, free standing bookshelves, built-ins and fireplace mantles. We love a challenge and the opportunity to contribute to the homeowner's enjoyment of the finished product. If you can imagine it, we have the skills to develop your concept into concrete plans and build it.

Stairs

stair /ster/ noun
plural noun: stairs
1. a set of steps leading from one floor of a building to another, typically inside the building.

Stairs are more than just a necessity; they allow for maintaining design continuity and flow while transitioning to a new space. We love the challenge of creating elements in a home that provide a practical function while reflecting the designer/client's vision. Exotic woods, the use of metal and other materials all add to the opportunity to create something wonderful in itself.
